NWCH Inpatient Services - Maternity

Maternity Ward

Our maternity units comprise of the antenatal, labor wards, nurseries and post- natal wards. We do both the normal and Cesarean (CS) deliveries.

Surgical Ward

These wards are responsible for all admissions of the surgical cases and all wounded people and have a full time team of experienced medical and nursing personnel. We perform major and minor surgeries and are also dedicated to all emergency cases.

Medical Ward

These wards are responsible for all admissions of the medical cases for both male and female from the age of 12 years. The wards are separately set for each gender. They have a full time team of experienced physicians and nursing personnel.

Paediatric Ward

These wards are responsible for all admissions of children under the age of 12 years. We treat and take care of sick children through our full time paediatricians, paediatric nurses and other personnel.

Psychiatric Ward

The Nairobi Women’s Hospital operates a psychiatric ward at our Ongata Rongai Unit with a bed capacity of 4. Our experienced psychiatric team specialises in treatment of serious mental disorders and related illnesses.

Private Rooms

We have private rooms with a bed capacity of 25 beds of which 19 are in private rooms and 6 in the semi-private rooms at our Adams and Ongata Rongai Units.
The rooms are spacious to ensure that the patients have their privacy creating a comfortable atmosphere for the patients to recuperate. A customer may request a private room prior to admission or during the admission process. The Hospital will make every effort to meet the patient’s request, depending on room availability and the needs of patients on the unit at the time of admission.

HDU/ICU

In our modern and well equipped 30 bed High Dependency & Intensive Care Units, we provide excellent care for patients with critical conditions, respiratory failure, post-operation care and cardiac relates illnesses. Our Adams Branch has a 12 bed ICU, Hurlingham – 8, Kitengela – 5, Rongai- 4 and Nakuru Hyrax-2. Our HDU teams are made up of experienced and highly qualified critical care professionals committed to offering the best quality care to our patients and their families.

Theatre Services

Our theatres have 24 hr operating rooms that are equipped and staffed to perform general and specialised procedures for both outpatients and inpatients. Some of the specialised procedures done at our hospitals include Ophthalmology, gynaecology, ENT, Neurosurgery and orthopaedics among others.
